Some months ago, I had the opportunity to make a survey on a free topic. Together with a friend, I decided to investigate to what extent do people know artificial intelligence and what they think about it. In this article, I want to share with you the results because I thought it could be interesting to have a conversation with you (by leaving your comments at the end of this article) to draw conclusions all together.
We collected 215 answers in a really short time (about a week). Our sample of people was mainly composed by people aged 18-24 (53%), followed by 25-30 (35%), 31-44 (7%), 45-60 (4%), 60+ (1%). The majority of them is female (71%) and from Southern Italy (45%, guess why?). When we asked them if they have ever heard about AI, the 86% of them answered yes. This number may seem a high percentage but if you wait a second to think about it, you'll understand that 20 people out of 215 have never even heard of AI and honestly, that is quite impressive to me. Indeed, this fact made me think a lot because the world around us is going a long way ahead with new technologies. There are robots that can do extraordinary things but not everyone is aware of it yet.
